Detailed information on Garnet Necklace in 18K Gold from the early 1970s

The centerpiece of the pretty necklace consists of a Bohemian garnet drop 8 mm (0,31 inches) long, which is set with 15 round and oval faceted garnets set in prongs.

The single drop in the center has been attached as a suspension. The beautifully red sparkling centerpiece is 5 cm (1,9 inches) wide and is attached to a simple 750, 18-carat gold chain.

The necklace is fastened with a solid spring ring, as was customary at the time.

It is extremely rare to see garnet stones that they were set in 750 (18k) Gold.

Usually garnets are only set in silver, or silver-gilt or a low gold alloy such as 8k Gold.
