Collector’s Note
An all wool Kashan rug woven in Iran in the late 1930s to early 1940s, produced during the period of renewed workshop activity under Reza Shah Pahlavi. Finely hand knotted with a central medallion and balanced floral arabesques, the design demonstrates the precision and formal clarity associated with Kashan weaving.
The surface shows a natural patina acquired through decades of preservation and wear, which contributes to the rug’s tonal depth and confirms its near antique status. This quality places the piece among notable examples from Kashani workshops of the era.
Intended for both display and functional use, the rug suits formal living rooms and studies. It pairs well with warm wood furniture and neutral fabrics. For a museum style presentation consider placing under subdued lighting or framed by simple furnishings so the rug functions as a quiet focal point.
