This force-of-nature necklace features a cabochon of dendritic agate set off by a flame of 24K gold wash on sterling silver. The stone’s dazzling, branch-like inclusions — known as dendrites — are a mixture of manganese or iron oxide minerals which were trapped inside the gemstone when the agate formed. Handmade by Hudson Valley-based artist Susan Fauman in her home studio.
