When the weaving process is complete the ends are heated and beaten several times to bind the wire. 

The closure fittings are then soldered on and the shape is then formed before final polishing.

This neck ring is heavily based on a piece found on Orkney island 

This one weighs around 100 grams and has a circumference of 44cms (17 inches).
