HOT ! Rutilated Quartz Prong Set Pendant

This one of a kind pendant was handmade in our studio from solid sterling silver and features a beautifully faceted rutilated quartz gemstone.  The tiny gold threadlike inclusions within the quartz are naturally occurring rutile crystals and they add such a unique pattern and color to the stone.  I created a custom prong setting for the stone to securely hold it while allowing light to pass through the stone from every angle to showcase the unique gem and give just the right amount of sparkle.  I hammer textured the accents and oversized bail and then oxidized the silver before polishing the piece to a high shine. The bail will accommodate up to an 8mm chain.  Some of the photos show this on our heavy handmade sterling silver chain which is a nice weight for the pendant and is sold separately in the shop.  This listing is for the pendant only.  The chain is used so we can photograph it on a mannequin to show scale on a person :).  Click here to find that chain plus others that we have available
