Yoshihiro Goto is an award-winning tea maker who simply wants to produce the best, most delicious tea. To control the quality of the tea, he created a “natural” tea plantation where the tea can only be picked by hand, a practice that is rare these days in Japan due to the number of people necessary to help. The plantation also has a multi-purpose open house where they can control the environment by adjusting the temperature and moisture, or use a heater to send hot air into clay pipes buried in the ground to raise the ground temperature, and then blow the air out to the surface to prevent damage from frost, allowing them to consistently produce the highest quality tea every year.  Despite the high cost and labor required to make such a tea, Goto-san is committed to passing a healthy plantation on to his children in hopes that they will continue his legacy and appreciation for the land.
