Artisan handmade African Mudcloth Pillow Cover (Pillow Insert NOT included).The fabric alone on these covers tells a story and ultimately become a conversation piece in your chosen room. These pillow cases are made with Bogolan Mudcloth which is one of the most precious fabrics you could possibly have. They are also hand sewn here in Miami, Florida by a local seamstress.  The pillow backing is made of a black cotton canvas material with an invisible zipper.What is the story behind Bogolan Mudcloth??We source our Bogolan Mudcloth from Western Africa. The fabric is dyed and composed of a thick cotton canvas, spun and woven 100% by hand. A pattern is dyed with fermented mud and other organic dyes. The dyeing technique is 100% organic, free from all kinds of harmful chemicals.

Craftsmen draw symbols on these fabrics to tell traditional stories of the peoples of the region. Formerly used by warriors and hunters for camouflage, Bogolan fabric is used today around the world to illustrate its attachment to African culture. This Mudcloth is the perfect complement to the Bohemian-chic room decor.IMPORTANT NOTE: Since it is hand made by craftsmen, therefore, there may be irregularities.  Each pillow is unique and may differ in exact pattern BUT that is what is so special!  The actual color may differ from the color displayed on the screen.  DRY CLEAN ONLY, due to their natural dyes colors may fade on contact with water.
