Detailed information on Japanese Sharpening Stone Shin Nagura 1000 \"Asahi\"

These Japanese sharpening stones: Shin Nagura are from the Asahi brand. I am the only one to distribute this brand in Europe. They are made in Japan. This is resinoid stone, it is an amalgam of natural stone powder and a resin binder.

The stone measures 212 X 72 X 25mm and weighs 736 grams. It produces a very powdery mud in good quantity. It is a superior quality stone. The finish is very matte, it is the right grain size to remove the defects of a 400 stone. The 1000 stone is the intermediate stone to maintain good flatness of your bevels whether for tools or kitchen knives. It is designed for high carbon steels.

These are water stones so you have to soak them until they are saturated. After use, let them dry naturally (avoid putting them in the sun). You have to use a diamond plate to maintain the flatness of the surface of your stones.

With this tool, you can discover Japanese tools. For cabinetmakers, sculptors, carpenters, cooks, or simply DIY enthusiasts.
