HOT ! Lovely Curved Mid-Century Buffet attributed to Dunbar and Edward Wormley

A stunning buffet attributed to Dunbar Furniture and designed by Edward Wormley.  The piece is identical to the Wormley design but it is missing the Dunbar tag.  It matches a sideboard/buffet in a Dunbar catalog.  In that catalog it is described as being made of rosewood.  The wood does have a reddish tint but I\'m not sure it is rosewood.  It could be mahogany.  

There is also an older auction listing that shows the same piece, complete with a removeable hutch and the Dunbar tag.  The piece is beautifully constructed.  It has lovely rounded corners and gorgeous hardware.  It has 3 shallow drawers at the top over 3 cabinets (6 doors in total).  It has amazing storage.

It shows wear consistent with age and light use.  There is also some sun fading to the finish.  There are a few very small veneer chips at the very bottom of the base.  

Dunbar Furniture, founded in 1910 in Berne, Indiana, originally manufactured high-quality horse-drawn carriages before transitioning into a premier American furniture company. The brand is best known for it\'s long-standing collaboration with Edward Wormley, who served as the design director from 1931-1967.  Under his leadership, Dunbar rejected mass-production and automation, opting instead for a handcrafted approach that utilized the expert woodworking skills of a predominantly Swiss heritage workforce. Wormley\'s design philosophy was distinct from contemporary \"hard\" modernists; he specialized in \"transitional\" design, which blended 20th-century innovation with historical, Scandinavian, and European influences. His work gained significant acclaim, particularly between 1950 and 1955, when 30 of his unique designs for Dunbar received the \"Good Design\" designation from the Museum of Modern Art and the Chicago Merchandise Mart. 

Wormley’s pieces are celebrated for their timeless sophistication, luxurious materials, and architectural clarity. 

This piece would look amazing refinished.
